Paul has languished in prison for two, long years. Felix has been replaced as governor. What fate awaits Paul as he is brought before the new governor, Festus? Today on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher we are studying Acts Chapters 25 as Paul appears for his second official hearing. Will he find justice under any human court?

What should you do when you are falsely accused?  Turn the other cheek, defend yourself, let others defend you-- or just do nothing? Paul has claimed his Roman citizenship and it has had quite an effect on his Roman guards.  Now as he stands before Felix and his accusers he uses his right as a citizen and avails himself of the government’s legal system.  Paul has no qualms about defending himself before the court and making a case for his innocence.

The Apostle Paul ruffled Jerusalem and made many enemies, but after he was taken into protective custody by the Roman guard, a miraculous thing happened.  On No Falling Word with Liam Goligher we’ll continue our study of Acts Chapters 23 and 24.  As Paul ponders his fate, the Lord Jesus Himself stands by Paul in his prison cell and tells him to “take courage”--his work is not finished.

Standing before the Sanhedrin, Paul makes a bold statement--that he has fulfilled his duty to God in all good conscience.  What was it about this simple statement that so angered the Jewish leaders?  Liam Goligher continues the study of Acts in chapter 22 and 23. Whether intentional or not, Paul’s words caused such an uproar that his guards had to rush him to safety.

Jealousy is a destructive emotion. But can it ever be used for good? When Paul announced to the crowd in Jerusalem that he was to bring the kingdom of God to the Gentiles, the citizens of that city were furious.  But Paul hoped that, even though the people were angry, they might one day receive his testimony and that jealousy would cause them to consider the claim of Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah.

Your story defines who you are.  How your story intersects with the stories of others can shift the direction of your life.  This week on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher we’ll continue through the book of Acts.  Paul has reached his destination, Jerusalem, where he will have the opportunity to share his story.

Prison, hardship and the unknown awaited Paul in Jerusalem.  But like Jesus, who made the same journey despite the suffering that awaited him, Paul did not use his friends’ warnings as an excuse not to go.  What can we learn from Paul about discerning God’s will when we may pay a high price for following it?

Just as sheep need a shepherd to protect them from the wolves that would decimate the flock, the church needs shepherds—wise men who can discern a true Christian from an imposter and distinguish truth from false doctrine.  This week on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher we are continuing our study of chapter 20 of the Book of Acts and see Paul’s on-going concern for the future of the early church.

Paul may have considered himself to be “the least of the apostles”, but he was instrumental in establishing the church and he knew the trials the church would be facing.  This week on No Falling Word, Liam Goligher begins a two-part message on leadership in the early church from Acts chapter 20, looking at the role of the elders.

If you’ve ever been part of an emotional farewell, you know the feelings that go along with separating from the ones you love.  This week on No Falling Word with Liam Goligher we’ll study chapter 20 of the Book of Acts as Paul addresses the leaders of the church in Ephesus for the final time. The meeting is a transitional point in Paul’s ministry and he’s concerned about the future of the church.
